Mayberry Water Billing Update – Transition to Consumptive Use Billing
Ellicott Utilities Company, LLC (EUC) has transitioned to new Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Smart Meters for their Mayberry customers. This technology allows customers to monitor their water consumption on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. As part of this transition, EUC will begin tracking monthly water consumption and charging customers based on consumption through individual water meters.

The consumption-based utility billing will now align all EUC water customers. Currently, Mayberry is the only development not being billed based on consumption.

The current flat rate water bill is inequitable for our customers. While most customers are utilizing best practices for water conservation, there are customers who are unaware of the volume of water being consumed. In the end, all customers are currently sharing in the cost of wasted water. A consumption-based program allows each customer to decide how much water they wish to use for their individual needs. This decision is then reflected in their monthly water bill.
Mayberry customers will begin receiving consumptive-based water bills on their March 2026 utility bills. Rates will be charged based on units of water consumed per the tiered rate structure outlined under “Rates & Fees” on the EUC website. Additional information can be found on our FAQ page.
